(Green, Red, Yellow, Orange) Bell peppers are members of the Nightshade family of vegetables along with potatoes, tomatoes and eggplants. Cultivars of the plant produce fruits in different colors, including red, yellow, orange, green (carried in our store) and chocolate/brown, vanilla/white, and purple (much rarer). Bell peppers are sometimes grouped with less pungent pepper varieties as "sweet peppers". With their multicolored skins, bell peppers add bright, vibrant color to any dish. Eat them raw or coax new flavors from these versatile vegetables with easy techniques like roasting and sautéing. Once purchased, store peppers in a plastic bag in the refrigerator and use within a week.
