Wax Beans - (locally grown, seasonal)

The peak season for wax bean runs from late July to late September. Wax bean is also known as "butter bean" due to its pale yellow color. Having a slightly milder flavor to that of green beans, both green bean and wax bean are high in vitamins A and C and can be substituted for each other in almost any recipe. Wax bean is great raw or cooked and you can try them steamed and topped with fresh breadcrumbs or dressed in a vinaigrette. Served with cooked pork chops, they make for a perfect addition when roasted with olive oil and garlic, or boil lightly and toss with potatoes and butter. Seasonal - contact us for availability.
